Meet The Founding Team
Ashik is an Urban Planner from Pune...
Pooja is an Entrepreneur from Jaipur...
Arshel is a stock investor from Guwahati...
Our story...
In 2013, Ashik had conceptualized The Green Lane Campaign to revive the cycling culture in Urban India and to make our cities more Livable, Healthier and Cleaner by using more sustainable modes of travel and transport such as Walking, Cycling and Public Transport. In 2014, he had embarked on a solo cycling expedition accross India to promote the campaign.

The idea to take this further, came up during the first Indian Bicycle Mayor Summit at Bengaluru in October 2019, when the three of us - Pooja, Ashik and Arshel, met each other in person for the first time. As Bicycle Mayors of our respective cities we have been working to promote sustainable urban mobility, mainly cycling, in our respective cities since the last few years.

Our common interest and our passion to promote people centric green urban spaces, road safety and sustainable modes of urban transportation brought us together to form The Green Lane Foundation.
