Arshel is an ex banker presently self employed as a stock investor. He co-founded Pedal for a Change in 2018 to work towards a cleaner, greener, healthier and sustainable environment by promoting the use of Bicycles in all spheres of life among the people in the North East of India. He also speaks and writes about cycling and NMT in different forums and mediums respectively. He was appointed as the first Bicycle Mayor of Guwahati in 2018.

He is also an avid cyclists who regularly commutes on his cycle for his work in the city. He loves his long rides and tours whenever he gets time during weekends or holidays
