Ashik is an Urban Planner and the Principal Architect at Designshala Collaborative in Pune. He is interested in Planning & Design of Safe, Inclusive & equitable Streets.

He was a winner of Mumbai Street Lab : Street Design of Rajaram Mohan Roy Street, Mumbai (in collaboration with Studio Infill, Pune). He had also won Wipro Earthian 2019 ( As a Faculty Guide to TY B Plan students, CoEP ). He was appointed as the first Bicycle Mayor of Pimpri Chinchwad in 2019.

He had embarked on a solo cycling trip in 2014 covering more than 5500 kms in 45 days to promote sustainable transport among school children. He regularly commutes on his cycle.
